Creates a lead magnet with format selection, content outline, landing page copy, email capture integration, delivery sequence, and nurture follow-up.

Activation

When this skill activates, output:

Lead Magnet: Creating lead capture asset...

Then execute the protocol below.

Context Guard

Context Status
User says "lead magnet", "opt-in", "freebie", "list building" ACTIVE
User says "email list growth" or "grow my list" ACTIVE
User wants to create a free asset to capture emails ACTIVE
User wants a full sales funnel DORMANT: use Sales Funnel
User wants paid ad copy DORMANT, use Facebook Ad or Google Ad

Common Mistakes

Mistake Why It's Wrong
"Give away your best stuff" Your best stuff is the product. The lead magnet solves ONE specific problem to prove your expertise.
"Make a 50-page ebook" Long ebooks have <10% completion rate. Short, actionable assets convert better.
"Any free thing works" The lead magnet must directly relate to your paid offer. Unrelated freebies attract unqualified leads.
"No follow-up after delivery" The lead magnet is the start of the relationship, not the end. Nurture with 3-5 emails minimum.
"Ask for too much info" Every additional form field reduces conversions by 10-15%. Name + email is enough.

Protocol

Step 1: Gather Requirements

If the user hasn't provided details, ask:

  1. Your paid product: what are you ultimately selling? (name, price, category)
  2. Target audience: who are you trying to attract? (role, pain point, skill level)
  3. Biggest problem: what's the #1 pain your audience has right now?
  4. Quick win: what small result can you deliver in <15 minutes?
  5. Distribution: how will you drive traffic? (ads, SEO, social, partnerships)
Step 2: Select Lead Magnet Type

Choose based on audience preference and production effort:

Type Best For Time to Create Conversion Rate
Checklist Process-oriented audiences (devs, marketers) 1-2 hours Very high (35-50%)
Template/Swipe file People who want done-for-you 2-4 hours Very high (35-50%)
Cheat sheet Quick-reference audiences 1-2 hours High (30-40%)
Mini-course (email) Audiences who value learning 4-8 hours High (25-35%)
Calculator/tool Data-driven audiences 8-20 hours High (30-45%)
Video training Visual learners, coaching audiences 4-8 hours Medium (20-30%)
Ebook/guide Thought leadership positioning 8-20 hours Medium (15-25%)
Quiz/assessment Entertainment-driven audiences 8-16 hours Very high (40-60%)
Free trial/sample Product-led growth SaaS or physical Varies Medium (15-25%)
Webinar recording B2B, high-ticket offers 2-4 hours (if recorded) Medium (20-30%)

Selection rule: Start with checklists, templates, or cheat sheets. They're fast to create, high-converting, and easy to test. Graduate to courses and tools once you've validated the topic.

Step 3: Create Content Outline

Checklist/cheat sheet template:

# [Actionable Title]: [Specific Outcome]

## What This Covers

## The Checklist

  • Bridge to your paid offer naturally (not salesy, "if you want to go deeper")
  • Include your branding (logo, colors, website URL)
  • Format: PDF for checklists/guides, email for courses, web app for calculators
Step 4: Write Landing Page Copy

Landing page structure:

[Above the fold]
Headline: [Specific outcome they'll get]
Subheadline: [How: "The [type] that helps you [outcome] in [timeframe]"]
Hero image: Mockup of the lead magnet (PDF cover, template preview, etc.)
Form: [Name] + [Email] + [CTA Button]
Social proof: "Downloaded by 2,000+ [audience type]"

[Below the fold, optional for higher-value magnets]
What's inside: 3-5 bullet points of what they'll learn/get
Who it's for: "[Audience type] who wants to [outcome]"
About you: 2-sentence credibility statement
Testimonial: Quote from someone who used the resource

Headline formulas:

  • "The [Type] That Helps You [Outcome] in [Timeframe]"
  • "[Number]-Step [Type] to [Outcome] (Without [Pain Point])"
  • "Free [Type]: How to [Outcome] Even If [Objection]"

CTA button text (not "Submit"):

  • "Download the Free Checklist"
  • "Get Instant Access"
  • "Send Me the Template"
  • "Start the Free Course"

Form design rules:

  • Fields: Name + Email only (2 fields maximum)
  • Button color: Contrasting color to the page
  • Below button: "No spam. Unsubscribe anytime."
  • No navigation links on the landing page (remove header/footer nav)
Step 5: Set Up Delivery Sequence

Email 1: Delivery (immediate):
