Where do you find good prompts that actually work?
Prompt lists online are mostly recycled. Where do you go to find prompts that are tested and maintained, not just pasted from somewhere else?
Look for prompts with a public source and a history: a repo where people vote, comment and fix them. A prompt that has been used and corrected by others beats one that only exists in a screenshot.
The prompts.chat collection (formerly Awesome ChatGPT Prompts) is the longest-running open one, with its own votes per prompt. AgentAlley lists prompts from public sources with credit and the vote count from the source where one exists.
Whatever the source, test a prompt on your own input before trusting it. Most prompts are tuned for the example their author had in mind.
When you improve one, keep your version with a note on what you changed. Your own tested prompts end up being the best library you have.
